Quote checklist

Collect the details for a useful enquiry.

Use this list to prepare your cargo brief, then submit it through the quote form. Mark estimates and outstanding information clearly; the checklist is guidance, not a separate booking form.

Your contact details.

  • Name and company making the enquiry.
  • Email and telephone number for follow-up.
  • Collection contact and receiving contact, if different.

Your cargo.

  • Goods description, quantity and number of items or units.
  • Packaging, stackability and any fragile or unusual items.
  • Item length, width, height and weight; total weight; measurement units.
  • Which dimensions or weights are measured and which are estimates.
  • For containers: size, type, loaded or empty status, unit count and container/reference numbers if available.

Collection and delivery.

  • Exact locations and responsible contacts.
  • Site access, opening hours, loading space and appointment requirements.
  • Loading and unloading arrangements and equipment available.
  • Port, terminal, depot or border involvement.

Readiness and required timing.

  • Cargo-ready date and requested delivery date or window.
  • Latest fixed handover, collection or terminal cut-off supplied by the responsible party.
  • Releases, documents or preparation still outstanding and who provides them.
  • Source of any port, depot or shipping-line deadline.

Additional information when it applies.

Reefer cargo. Commodity, written operating conditions and controller set point; container specifications; power and monitoring requirements; handover contacts. See the Reefer containers guide and CTU Code.

Dangerous goods. UN number, proper shipping name, class or division, subsidiary risks and packing group where assigned; quantity and package details; safety data sheet and available declaration or emergency information. See the Dangerous goods guide and CTU Code chapter 10.

Bonded cargo. Customs status and intended procedure, declarant or agent contact, licensed-remover role, available movement documents and completion-evidence responsibility. See the Bonded cargo guide and SARS.

Import or export. Movement direction, booking and release references, terminal or depot handover, latest cut-offs and VGM responsibility where applicable to a sea export. See Import & export coordination and IMO guidance.

Cross-border or unusual load. Origin, destination and proposed transit countries if known; cargo controls and document contacts; unusual dimensions or weight and site restrictions. See Coverage, C-BRTA and Western Cape abnormal-load guidance.

An enquiry starts the review.

Submission is not a booking, binding quotation or cargo acceptance. Rates, equipment, route, timing and requirements need written operational confirmation.
